Businesses of all sectors and sizes continue to be impacted by the increase in the cost-of-living, whether the impact is driven by the recent rise in energy prices, changes in economic conditions locally, across the state or nationally and abroad, or the continuation of soft regional housing indicators. These conditions impact consumers' discretionary spending and the consumer's ability to purchase new homes, new and used homes through remodeling contracts, and vehicles.
The impact of such conditions is also seen through the increase in consumer mortgage rates and the continued increase in unemployment rates. The primary focus this quarter of the Housing Forecast is to project housing starts, the amount of new and remodeled housing starts and existing housing construction. Also included are projections for retail sales, new home sales, the existing-home and new-home market, and consumer confidence. Housing starts across the nation increased a solid 2.3% in March, bringing the year-to-date increase in housing starts to 7.6%
This increase in starts was stronger than previously expected, coming in significantly above the first-month and prior-month levels, and was driven by single- and double-family housing starts.
Single-family homes started construction after being the primary driver of overall housing starts for more than 35 years. This is the first time since 1978 that single-family construction has led starts in June. Overall, total single-family housing construction for 2016, so far, has been almost 9% below the annual median total for the past 35 years.” (emphasis added)
So far in June, there were an average of 17,744 housing starts. That's up from 17,624 in May, and is up from 17,555 in April, and up from 17,564 in March and 17,565 in February. Last month's average was the lowest starting figure for a June since 1994 and also the lowest monthly average since 2011, when there were 17,366 starts.
The monthly average started figure in June is 5% below the annual May housing starts figure. That is the lowest 6-month decrease since 2001. In June of this year, the first-month average was 17,692. So the 6-month decrease was 2,500 units - or 11% The annual median starts, for June, was 17,700 units, or 4% below the average. So, since January, the decline in starts is about 5% below normal.

I have come to expect nothing but the best from this financial institution. However, recently, I was disappointed to learn that they do not offer gold coin investments. As someone who has saved diligently over the years, I had hoped that my local bank would provide me with a wide range of investment options. Unfortunately, this is not the case at IBC Bank in McAllen. I decided to take matters into my own hands and explore other financial institutions that offer gold coin investments. After doing some research, I found that many banks across the country, and even in nearby Graham, provide this service. It's disheartening to think that a major bank like IBC Bank would miss out on such an opportunity to serve their customers. It's not just about the investment itself, but also about the potential for growth and diversification. Gold coins offer a unique asset class that can help mitigate risks in a portfolio. With the current state of global markets, it's more important than ever to have diverse investments. By failing to provide this service, IBC Bank is limiting its customers' options and exposing them to unnecessary risk. This disappointment has left me feeling frustrated and confused about my decision to continue banking with IBC Bank. It's a shame that such a reputable bank would fall short in such an essential area. I am now considering transferring my accounts to another financial institution that can offer me the full range of investment options. In light of today's news, it's important to remember the importance of diversification in one's portfolio. The recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has highlighted the risks associated with investing heavily in one asset class. By spreading your investments across a variety of assets, including gold coins, you can help mitigate these risks and potentially increase returns. In conclusion, I urge IBC Bank to consider adding gold coin investments to their services. It's essential for banks to provide their customers with a full range of investment options in order to best serve them. As a long-time customer, I have high expectations for my financial institution, and I hope that IBC Bank will step up to meet these standards. If not, it may be time to explore other options.

I'm constantly on the hunt for new sources of inspiration. That's why I found myself wandering the streets of McAllen yesterday, in search of a quiet spot to let my creativity flow. Little did I know that my destination would lead me to an unexpected discovery: Rio Bank. Tucked away on a side street just off of University Boulevard, this financial institution is nestled between the bustling energy of the McAllen Municipal Baseball Stadium and the lush greenery of Quinta Mazatlan. Its unassuming exterior belies the warm welcome I received inside, where a friendly teller helped me navigate my banking needs with ease. From the moment I stepped into Rio Bank, I was struck by its cozy, inviting atmosphere. The sleek, modern design of the interior is a refreshing change from the sterile, clinical feel of some of the larger banks in town. Instead, this one feels like it's part of the community - and that's exactly what it is. As I chatted with the teller about my banking options, I couldn't help but think back to a news article I had read earlier in the day: "Cabs to get into space': How this Indian startup wants to revolutionize satellite space travel. It's amazing to see how technology and innovation are changing the way we live and work - and Rio Bank is no exception. With its focus on cutting-edge banking solutions, it's clear that this institution is committed to staying ahead of the curve. Whether you're a longtime resident of McAllen or a newcomer in town, I highly recommend checking out Rio Bank for yourself. From its convenient location to its top-notch customer service, there's no denying that this place has a bright future ahead. As for me? Well, I'm already planning my next writing session here - because let's face it, inspiration comes in many forms, and sometimes, all you need is a cozy bank to spark your imagination. So if you ever find yourself in the neighborhood, be sure to swing by Rio Bank at 1655 N 23rd St, McAllen, TX 78501, United States.

I am absolutely infuriated with Wells Fargo Bank in McAllen. As someone who has worked hard to save up money, I was looking forward to investing some of it in gold coins as a smart and secure way to grow my wealth. Unfortunately, this bank simply cannot provide me with that service. It's especially frustrating given the recent news about Wells Fargo being fined for their fraudulent practices. It seems like they prioritize profits over customer satisfaction, which is completely unacceptable. I would have expected a reputable financial institution to offer a full range of investment options, not just the standard stocks and bonds. But my disappointment doesn't end there. The customer service at this branch has been lackluster at best. I've had to wait on hold for extended periods of time just to speak with a representative, and when I do finally get through, they seem more interested in reading from a script than actually helping me. It's frustrating to say the least. All in all, I can't recommend Wells Fargo Bank in McAllen to anyone looking for quality financial services. With so many other banks in the area offering a wider range of products and better customer experiences, it's simply not worth settling for this subpar institution. If you value your time and money, I strongly advise that you look elsewhere. Trust me, your wallet (and your sanity) will thank you.
